Ohrada was built between 1708 - 1713 in Baroque style by architect P. I. Bayer for Prince A. F. Schwarzenberg as a hunting lodge, which was to serve for organizing hunts and hunting celebrations ostentatious. Museum of hunting in Ohrada was founded in 1842, when there were concentrated extensive collection of hunting trophies and stuffed animals, and is one of our oldest museums. The museum is situated on the banks of Munický Lake and in the vicinity there is a zoo enclosure.
Forestry - Exhibition about the life of the forest, forest cultivation and development of mining and timber transport.
Hunting - The exhibition traces the development of Czech hunting; It includes a collection of historical weapons and firearms.
Fishing - The exhibition documents the development of fisheries and south Bohemian fish farming
Activity:
Ohrada organizes temporary exhibitions, prepares and accompanying educational programs for schools.
Organizing public events, which are famous National Hunting festivities, which take place in June.
National Hunting Festival is a traditional event, which takes place on the premises of a hunting castle Ohrada at the end of June. The festival program is designed to be attractive not only for hunters, but also for the general cultural public, including families with children. The highlight of the program is an attractive Czech Championships in deer lure. Visitors will also feature myslivečtí trumpeters, falconers and cynologists. The accompanying program is a further example excursion to the nearby Old Fields.
