History
With the aim to promote the development of tourism not long after the opening of the borders, when visitors to the city increased exponentially, a seasonal information center was opened in the Oskar Nedbal Theater building in 1993. A permanent information center with year-round operation was established the very next year by the City of Tábor as part of the Education, Culture and Sports Department (today the Culture and Tourism Department). Since its establishment, it has been located in the Late Gothic Town Hall building on Tábor’s main square. The information center was completely renovated in the spring of 2009 with a grant from the European Regional Development Fund. In 2014, it received a certificate under the Czech Service Quality System.
