The oldest educational trail in southern Bohemia (2nd oldest in the Czech Republic), passing through Šumava Protected Landscape Area. Hiking trail with Šumava forests with many interesting rock formations as well as a stop at the Schwarzenberg Canal. At one point we remember the last bear in the Bohemian Forest, according to which the trail bears its name.
The trail connects Ovesná and Černý Kříž railway stops to the Český Krumlov - Volary line.
The educational trail can be done in both directions. The most advantageous is to start the journey from Black Cross, which is physically the least demanding as it goes down the hill. It is possible to go through a shortened variant from Jelení to Ovesná, where you can visit the most beautiful rock formations on the trail. Jelení can be reached by car, there is also a car park.
The path leads along the yellow tourist sign. The elevation of the route is 330 m and is 14 km long, the shortened route from Jelení to Ovesná is 7 km.
