Just as Letná in Prague was brought to life during the Winter Olympics in Sochi two years ago, the Lipno area in South Bohemia will let everyone soak in the real Olympic spirit of Rio de Janeiro and take the opportunity to try some sports, perhaps with the whole family, in various, not only Olympic disciplines. Visitors will have free admission to the Olympic Park!
The atmosphere of the Czech struggle for medals in Rio will be created by a live broadcast on large-scale screens. Successful former Olympic contestants will share their impressions from previous Games. In the Lipno Park, you will be able to meet the skier Katka Neumannová, the footballer Karel Poborský, figure skater Tomáš Verner, and rower Václav Chalupa. Telebridges from Rio will bring the feelings of the contemporary Czech contestants straight from the center of activity, and some of them will come to Lipno to thank the supporters in person. The program will be accompanied by concerts, laser shows and exhibitions. The Park will include a Czech Television studio, and Radiožurnál will bring its mobile “airstream”.
However, the Rio-Lipno Park will not only be about listening to successful contestants. On both shores of Lake Lipno, you will be allowed to try about fifty types of sports, both Olympic and not, traditional and brand new. Thanks to the popular local cycling trail, people will be able to travel between the sports grounds by bicycle or inline skates.
