South Bohemian baked cabbage cakes (“zelňáky”)

We need:

500 g plain flour, 500 g white sauerkraut, 50 ml milk, salt, cumin, homemade lard with pork greaves.

 

Method:

Sieve flour on the pastry board, add drained and chopped sauerkraut, greaves with lard, salt and cumin and add milk according to the dough density. Work the dough and roll it into a flat sheet about 1 cm thick. Cut out circles or other shapes and bake them in the oven at 200 °C for about 20 minutes. Cabbage cakes are great with South Bohemian beer.
